The Horse

The horse is, without a doubt, one of the most aspirational animals, perhaps because of its size and beauty. But it is also one of the most subdued, even if for worthy purposes.

At this stage in my life, I can only envision it in the wild.

Perhaps what draws us to the horse is the image of it galloping freely across mountains and meadows, moving in herds.

Perhaps we’re attracted to what it represents—something we yearn for yet have distanced ourselves from.

Maybe we should cast off its elegant bridle, hold fast to its neck, and let ourselves be carried away.
